Medical Anthropology

Medical anthropology, the study of human health, the experience of illness, and the organization of health care across different cultures and societies, is one of the most exciting sub-disciplines of anthropology. Medical anthropologists examine issues that are both theoretically relevant to the parent academic discipline and of pressing practical importance to the world today.


A student must complete all general requirements for the major including:

  • ANTY 426
  • Any three courses: ANTY 333, 336, 422, or 435.
