CBSD Awards Three Pilot Project Leaders
Stephen Lodmell, Jack Nunberg and Travis Wheeler were recently awarded competitive pilot project funding through the CBSD. Dr. Lodmell will be focusing on characterization of virus-triggered isoforms of RIOK3 kinase as a host antiviral protein. Dr. Nunberg will be focusing on determination of the three-dimensional structure of the arenavirus envelope glycoprotein nanodiscs for cryo electron microscopy. Dr. Wheeler will be focusing on reducing false sequence annotation of large genomic DNA datasets due to alignment overextension and repeats. To date, CBSD has awarded 13 pilot projects.
