New Year, New Ideas: Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society

Our national Communication Studies honor society, Lambda Pi Eta (LPH), is an ongoing and exciting part of our departmental life. We are so grateful for the energy and enthusiasm they bring to our corner of the LA Building! Each year we induct a new round of members, elect a new slate of student leaders, and embark upon a new set of activities. Already this year LPH members have put on our inaugural Communication Day, with live debates in the University Center and a Q&A with faculty and students for those interested in the major. They have hosted a Pumpkin Carving Party, where free pumpkins and supplies were provided for all interested COMX students to carve and enter into a drawing for a sweet prize. LPH students have even helped to clean up after the Griz football games!

Our Lambda Pi Eta members focus on service, fun, and engagement on our campus and in the communication studies discipline. As members these students are officially connected to our National Communication Association, and can represent this honor on their resumes. All COMX majors who have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and a 3.25 GPA in communication studies classes (or graduate students who have a minimum 3.5 GPA) are welcome to become members.
