My group develops methods in computational biology, with an emphasis on sequence analysis:
- development of algorithms, primarily in the area of genomic, e.g. that increase the speed and power of sequence database search using profile hidden Markov models (in HMMER)
- application of these methods to biology-motivated topics, especially those involving transposable elements and regulatory elements.
Visit my lab page (http://wheelerlab.org) to read more about my research and group.
The lab has open positions for motivated postdocs and students at all levels (PhD, Masters, Undergrad). Please drop me a line if you'd like to discuss possibilities.
