... to the Department of Economics at the University of Montana. Located in the College of Humanities and Sciences, our department comprises a talented group of dynamic faculty, students, and staff, dedicated to high quality education and scholarship and active lifestyles in the place we call home, beautiful Missoula, Montana. Our faculty members are developing innovative and timely research on local, national, and international social issues that are being integrated into the learning experiences of our students in the classroom and through collaborative research opportunities.
In both our undergraduate- and graduate-degree programs, students develop quantitative and critical thinking skills, learn to communicate complex ideas, and produce research on timely and relevant social policy issues. Our programs provide students with a comprehensive education in microeconomic and macroeconomic theory as well as modern and rigorous empirical econometric methods. With this training, our students are well-positioned for success in the job market, law school, and Ph.D. programs in Economics or Public Policy.
