A Centennial Celebration
To commemorate the occasion, we're planning a number of events.
The President's Lecture Series, the premiere lecture series of the University of Montana, begins the 2017-2018 with 2015 Nobel Laureate Sir Angus Deaton. On September 7, Sir Deaton will present an afternoon lecture titled, "Global Poverty and Why It is So Hard to Erase" and an evening lecture titled, "Mortality and Morbidity in the United States."
Homecoming Weekend, October 13-15, will include a tailgate at the Homecoming football game and an actual bowling event at Westside Lanes on Friday, October 13.
We're hosting an open house on Friday, 13 October, from 1 to 5 p.m. Stop by the department and catch up with friends.
Then come bowl on us! Friday night from 6 to 9 p.m. Students, alumni and faculty, past and present, will celebrate the centennial of UM Economics with an epic bowling supermatch! Meet at Westside Lanes & Fun Center - 1615 Wyoming - or join the bike gang, led by graduate student Michael Kernan, which is meeting at 5:45 by the Bear.
After an evening of dismal bowling, celebrate at the homecoming tailgate on Saturday at the South River Bowl, Spot #14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. -- hosted by the College of Humanities and Sciences.
