Personal Summary

I grew up moving all over the US, but most recently my family lives in Cincinnati Ohio.  I attended college at Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada.  While there, I double majored in biology and history.  My senior year year I wrote my thesis about perceptions of wilderness and the establishment of the national park system.  I love the idea of studying the environment from a variety of different disciplines.  After graduation, I was accepted into Teach for America.  I taught high school science at a low income school in Cleveland, Ohio for two years.  During these two years, I realized that I want to create environmental and outdoor educational opportunities for ALL kids regardless of income.  In order to make this happen, I am pursuing my Masters Degree in Environmental Studies where I can study the environment from a variety of perspectives, with a focus in environmental education.
