Professor Bradley Clough spent much of last summer doing research in Sri Lanka on manuscripts of a 14th century Buddhist collection of edifying tales called the “River of Delight” (Rasavāhiniī). Dr. Clough is currently working on a book which will include translation of this text along with a history of its composition and reception. While in Sri Lanka, Professor Clough also participated in the Sixth Annual International Conference of the Sri Lankan Association of Buddhist Studies, where he gave a paper titled, “Appealing to the ‘Buddha’s Voice’: A Modern Theravāda Meditation Controversy.”
