Write Your Stories: A Writing Workshop for Health Professionals

"Write Your Stories: A writing workshop for medical professionals" is a ten-week writing class for medical professionals taught by acclaimed author David Cates. The objective of the workshop is to afford those whose work involves health care an opportunity to write about their experiences in a workshop setting. Students will be asked to read a few short scenes and stories which the instructor will then analyze for structure, content, and effectiveness, examining how and why they work.  Students will then write a few original pieces--fiction or non-fiction--that the class will read and discuss.

The course is open to a maximum of 12 health care professionals on a first-come, first-serve basis, so please register ASAP! Students are expected to attend all 10 sessions. The class will meet on UM’s campus on Tuesdays: Sept. 11, 18, 25, Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, and Nov 6 and 13 from 6:30-8:30 pm.
