HOSA students learn about UM Neuroscience Major
Montana HOSA Students Explore Neuroscience Principles and the New UM Major at their Statewide Leadership Conference
The UM Undergraduate Neuroscience program was showcased at the recent Montana HOSA-Future Health Professions statewide Leadership Conference on March 20th and 21st in Helena. This organization provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for secondary and collegiate students enrolled in health science education and biomedical science programs or have interests in pursuing careers in health professions. As part of the conference, the more than 400 attending students had the opportunity to meet with faculty and staff from a variety of university health and biomedical sciences program. Dr. Sarah Certel hosted the Neuroscience exhibit where students had a chance to test their visual-muscle networks and explore the fundamental principles of motor control and brain plasticity. The meeting also provided an excellent opportunity to make more students aware of the new and rapidly growing Neuroscience major available at UM.
