Laura Branson

2nd year School Psychology SSP student

Laura Branson was born and raised in Huntington Beach, California. She graduated from The University of Montana in 2016 with bachelor’s degrees in Cultural Anthropology and Psychology. During her undergrad she worked in an international school psychology research lab and developed an interest in working with ethnic and minority populations. She chose to pursue a degree in school psychology because she wants to help students in understanding their strengths and strengthening their weaknesses, and overall to provide resources to families and students that will help them succeed in the academic environment. Outside of academics, laura enjoys photography, traveling, spending time outdoors, and crafting.

Emelyn Falley

2nd year School Psychology SSP student

Emelyn Falley graduated from the University of Montana in 2016 with a degree in psychology. During her undergrad she worked in a research lab focused on cultural responsiveness, and became especially interested in studying mood disorders and providing the best opportunities for student success, which led her to school psychology. When not working with kiddos, she loves spending time with friends in the beautiful Montana outdoors.

Jessica LeBrun

2nd year School Psychology SSP student

Jessica LeBrun moved to Missoula from a small town called Milbank, South Dakota, and graduated with a degree in Psychology and minors in Education and Child and Adolescent Development from the University of South Dakota. Jessica really enjoyed working one-on-one with students and wanted to help the students reach their best potential which led her to the School Psychology program. She is interested in working with rural and Native American populations. In her free time, Jessica enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors with her husband.

Christopher Ross

2nd year School Psychology SSP student

Christopher Ross was born and raised in Bozeman, MT. After serving as an undergraduate research assistant studying developmental precursors to childhood anxiety problems, Christopher graduated from Montana State University with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Psychology. From personal experience with school psychologists and a desire to serve children, families, and schools, Christopher’s primary professional interests include multimethod assessment, early intervention, crisis prevention and response, and teacher/parent consultation. In his free time, Christopher enjoys hiking, exploring the Missoula area, flying as a private pilot, and listening to music.

Anna Sawyer

2nd year School Psychology SSP student

Anna was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. She graduated from Colorado College in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Religion. She joined her two academic interests in her senior thesis, which examined the neurobiological, experiential, and cultural differences and overlap between psychosis in schizophrenia and religious experiences. After graduation, Anna moved back to Alaska and began working at a day habilitation center for people who experience developmental disabilities. Her decision to pursue a career as a school psychologist was solidified during her experiences working with and advocating for individuals at the center. In her spare time, Anna enjoys being outside, running, playing with horses, and reading.

2nd year School Psychology SSP student

PJ Thomas grew up in Bozeman, MT and completed his B.A. in psychology at the University of Montana. During his undergraduate studies he worked in Anisa Goforth’s lab where he was introduced to the field of School Psychology.  He is interested in early intervention and autism spectrum disorder . Outside of school he enjoys hiking, exploring Missoula, and basketball.

MacKinzie Tilleman graduated from the University of Montana in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in school psychology. While an undergraduate she worked in a school psychology research lab and developed a passion for crisis intervention and working with diverse populations. She enjoys reading, yoga and eating chocolate.

3rd year School Psychology SSP student -- currently on internship

Miki Anderson grew up in Alaska, and graduated from the University of Montana in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. During her time in undergraduate coursework, she found that she was interested in how school psychologists work to help children in the educational setting, which led her to the program. Miki is interested in early intervention, as well as working with diverse populations. She also enjoys reading, hiking and running.

Hannah Breeden attended the University of Montana for her Bachelor’s degree. During her undergrad she worked in a neuropsychology lab with Craig McFarland. She is a Missoula native and enjoys working within her hometown community.

Sydnee Freiburghaus

3rd year School Psychology SSP student -- currently on internship

Sydnee Freiburghaus moved to Missoula from Boise, Idaho. She graduated in May 2015 from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. While an undergraduate she worked as an intern for a school psychologist in the Nampa School District. She is interested in working minority elementary students (Hispanic population, refugee population, LGBTQ) in the Boise area. She enjoys hiking around Missoula with her husband and exploring the beauty of Montana (especially Glacier National Park).

Danielle Gelderman

3rd year School Psychology SSP student -- currently on internship

Danielle Gelderman grew up in Eureka Montana. After graduating from the University of Montana with degrees in psychology and education, she returned to Eureka to be with her family and was a teacher there for 5 years. She had a baby in May, 2015 and she loves her new role as a mother. She is also very excited about being back in school! During her free time she likes to scrapbook, organize, and relax with her family.

Eliza Hutchings

3rd Year School Psychology SSP Student -- currently on internship

Eliza is from Carbondale, Illinois. She graduated from Southern Illinois University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Since graduating she has been working with kids, most recently as a preschool teacher. Working with children within an educational environment led to her interest in school psychology. In her spare time she enjoys playing ultimate frisbee and exploring Missoula.

Tiffany Martin

3rd year School Psychology SSP student -- currently on internship

Tiffany is originally from Polson, MT and completed her B.A. in Psychology at the University of Montana. During her undergraduate studies she focused primarily on the area of neuropsychology and presented as second author at an International Neuropsychological Society conference. She chose to pursue school psychology because she believes all children should have access to education, and is interested in multicultural factors within the school setting. Outside of school she enjoys outdoor activities such as fly fishing, hiking, and hunting, as well as spending time with family, friends, and her dogs, Yeti and Bear Grylls.

Veronica graduated from the University of Calgary, in Alberta, Canada, in 2014 with her BA in psychology. After graduating she worked for a school psychologist in northern Alberta. She was drawn to the school psychology program because of her passion for psychology and love for working with children. She adores the community of Missoula and is thrilled to be part of such a respectable and supportive program.
