PSYX 290 & 390

Below are the faculty members participating in supervised research, Psyx 290 and 390.  Also included are examples of their research interests and research project(s) open to student work and participation.  Please note that, since these are "apprenticeship" courses in research psychology, it is necessary that the projects be those which the professors are specially qualified to handle. The present list is not exhaustive, but will give students a clear indication of the research areas in which the faculty are interested and are currently conducting research. Students should keep in mind that the work undertaken by faculty for PSYX 290 and 390 is in addition to the faculty members' teaching assignments, and that such work can only be continued if students participate with enthusiasm, ideas, a desire to learn, and a sense of responsibility. PSYX 120 is not a prerequisite for PSYX 290 or 390.

The number of credits students sign up for is variable. Each credit translates into 3 hours the student gives to the lab per week. So, if a student signs up for 3 credits then he/she is supposed to work 9 hours per week. Typically students do 2 credits or 6 hours. Students can take a total of 6 credits of 290, allowing them to work more than one semester in a lab.
