Junior Programmer

Job Description

The junior programmer works closely with other programmers on all phases of web application development and maintenance.  Programmers also work with designers and assist clients on a regular basis.  Common projects include designing and managing databases, and creating online forms.  A training period will focus on skills enhancement, office practices, and web standards.

This is a great opportunity for long-term employment with practical experience.

Qualifications

Primary Qualification:  Demonstrated ability to code in at least one language.

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience with PHP and JavaScript.
  • Experience with CodeIgniter, Git, and Bootstrap.
  • Experience with markup languages (HTML and CSS).
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • The ability to communicate technical information in a clear and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills. 

A training period will introduce office procedure and allow time for skills enhancement.

Hours:  12-17 hours/week (up to 29/week in the summer)

Must be registered for at least 6 credits
