The UM Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) is a representative student group advocates on behalf of graduate and professional students. We work to address the needs, concerns, and interests of the graduate student body in collaboration with undergraduate and graduate student groups and associations, state and local community members and leadership, faculty, staff, and administration.
The Global Engagement Office (GEO) promotes and provides international life-changing experiences and related educational opportunities, serving as a resource that contributes to the culture of a globally-minded community.
The International Students and Scholars (ISS) office coordinates cultural activities, offers a community hospitality program and provides advising on non-academic issues.
The English Language Institute (ELI) has previously offered a 50-hour certificate course specifically designed to support International TAs. Linguistically, this course focused on classroom discourse, strategies for communication, and pronunciation. The methodology component focused on the American educational system, roles instructors must fill, and classroom management techniques. A minimum of 8 students is required to offer this course in Fall 2014. If interested, please contact Sandra Janusch, Director, English Language Institute, x2334; Sandra.Janusch@mso.umt.edu.
