Resources

AIGPI research and related outputs include policy reports, briefs and statements, as well as sample tribal codes and ordinances. In addition to policy research conducted at the request of tribal governments, AIGPI also periodically produces white papers, topical articles, and essays that seek to provide new insights into major issues affecting Indian Country. These items are primarily authored by core AIGPI-affiliated faculty at the University of Montana, AIGPI Advisory Council members, experts from within the broader Montana University System, and students doing exceptional work. These resources are stored in AIGPI’s Research and Publications database where they can be accessed by tribal leaders and the general public.

Also highlighted are resources featuring innovative ideas and stories of action that tribal communities are taking to address their socioeconomic challenges, protect their lands and preserve tribal sovereignty.  By curating this idea bank, AIGPI hopes to provide inspiration to other tribal nations and in general draw attention to the proactive and creative approaches to problem solving that have characterized American Indian individuals and communities since time immemorial.
