Andrew Honken & Teague Rutherford

University of Montana Students and Global Grizzlies

Andrew and Teague volunteered for one month in the summer of 2017 in a Ugandan hospital as part of the University of Montana student group Global Grizzlies. The Global Grizzlies are focused on students pursuing health professions and strive to bring aid to developing countries and to help students gain compassion by experiencing a new culture. 

Teague Rutherford is an enrolled Gro Ventre from Fort Belknap. Teague plans to go earn his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry and return home to work as a dentist for Indian Health Services. Teague will graduate this spring with a bachelor's degree in Human Biology with minors in Global Public Health and Native American Studies.

Andrew Honken came to the University of Montana as a Presidential Leadership scholar and is majoring in Human Biology with a minor in Global Public Health. After graduating this spring, Andrew is going to Uganda to serve as with the Peace Corp as a Community Health Educator. Andrew's long term goal is to go to medical school and then gain a Master's in Public Health.
