Apply to the NEH Fellowships Program
Deadline: April 8, 2020
NEH Fellowships are competitive awards granted to individual scholars pursuing projects that embody exceptional research, rigorous analysis, and clear writing. Applications must clearly articulate a project’s value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both.
Fellowships provide recipients time to conduct research or to produce books, monographs, peer-reviewed articles, e-books, digital materials, translations with annotations or a critical apparatus, or critical editions. Projects may be at any stage of development
Fellowships can be taken for periods of 6 to 12 months at a stipend of $5,000 per month. Award periods must be full-time and continuous. Recipients will be able to begin their award period as early as January 1, 2021 and as late as September 1, 2022.
NEH invites applications from scholars in all humanities disciplines, and it encourages submissions from independent scholars and junior scholars.
Staff will conduct a pre-application webinar on Tuesday, January 28 at 2:00 pm EST. You may register here. A recording of the webinar and additional program information will be available at: National Endowment for the Humanities: Fellowships.
