Information and Requirements

Application Due Date

The InPsych Undergraduate Scholarship Application is due March 1. Please complete the online application.  Hard copies of the application are also available in the Psychology Department, Skaggs Building, room 146.

Current Educational Status

You must be a full-time student at UM, have attended UM for at least one (1) semester, be a declared Psychology major and have a sincere desire to pursue a career in Clinical Psychology.

GPA Requirement

A GPA of 2.5 or higher is required. Please include an official transcript with your application.

Required Materials

In addition to the online application, please supply the following required materials:

1. Personal statement. (Upload file below) Please address the following (two-page, single space maximum)
   1. Why are you requesting this scholarship?
   2. What are your career goals?
   3. Explain how these goals will help meet the health needs of American Indian people.
2. A UM transcript. An electronic version can be ordered from the Registrar’s Office and sent to PsychologyDepartment@umontana.edu. You can upload a copy to the online application or drop off a hard copy in the Psychology Department, Skaggs 143.
3. Certificate of tribal enrollment (Form BIA 4432)(Upload file below)
4. One Reference. Please request a reference from a faculty or staff member who knows you well and is willing to write a statement that describes your qualifications for the scholarship. Provide your reference writer with the link to the Online Reference Form.

Student Agreement

If awarded the InPsych Undergraduate Scholarship, I will utilize the scholarship for academic pursuits only. I also agree to abide by the American Psychological Association (APA) Ethical Guidelines in academic study, research, and clinical work.
