Her Exiled Children: A Clann Díbeartha

The Irish of America and the shaping of a new Ireland.

This is the first in a series of documentary films designed to tell the story of the Irish of America and how they changed the history of Ireland. Thomas Francis Meagher sought Irish independence, Marcus Daly sought economic independence, and Sean O Sullivan and Seamus Moriarty fought to save the culture. Through their lives we will tell the story of the Irish of America and the enduring love and commitment of Irish Americans to Ireland and her people.

There is an Irish proverb 'Ní neart go cur le chéile' which means that there is not strength without unity, that working together we can achieve the goals we set before us. It was the unity between the Irish of America and Ireland that achieved Irish independence; it is working together that we can tell this story. This is why we appeal to you to join us, to give us your support, to help us tell the story of Thomas Francis Meagher and the generations who came before us.
