Marylesa Howard, Ph.D.’13, Wins Prestigious Award


Dr. Marylesa Howard, who earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics from UM in 2013 under the supervision of Professor John Bardsley, was one of the recipients of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE).  As the White House Press Release notes, the “PECASE is the highest honor bestowed by the United States Government to outstanding scientists and engineers who are beginning their independent research careers and who show exceptional promise for leadership in science and technology.”   Marylesa works as a signal processing and applied mathematics scientist at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Nevada National Security Site.  You can read more about her and her work in the NNSS Press Release.
