Our Primary Goals:

  • Recognizing Teaching Excellence by honoring professors nominated by former students.
  • Helping exceptional undergraduate and graduate students by granting scholarships.
  • Providing opportunities for our members to get together, often for lectures, seminars, excursions, or private tours of educational and cultural institutions. All of our events will serve as social and networking opportunities, as well as fundraisers for our scholarships.
  • Informing our members. We publish an E-Newsletter, available either by email or online, to keep in regular contact with our members.

Our Association is run by an Executive Board of hardworking, dedicated, talented, and unpaid volunteer officers. Our only expenses are printing, mailing, and event sponsorship. That means we will be able to put most of our members’ dues, and all of their donations, directly into our Scholarship and Teaching Excellence funds, which are managed by the University of Montana Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization.

Any Phi Beta Kappa member – no matter where or when you may have been initiated as a PBK member – is welcome to join the Phi Beta Kappa Association of Montana. In fact, since there is currently no chapter of Phi Beta Kappa established in the state of Montana, all of our active members were initiated into Phi Beta Kappa at a college or university outside of Montana, so we would be delighted to get to know you.

Please complete the online application form to join our Association now and make the most of your induction into Phi Beta Kappa! To become a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Association of Montana, please complete and submit the Membership Application.
