The University of Montana Conference for Undergraduate Research, 2019 was a great success. Congratulations to Stephen Cook, Kinsey Webb, Janelle Shamp, and Isaac Robinson for all of the hard work. Take home messages: 1) Yes, degus change their social behavior with partner familiarity--but aggressive behavior (particularly common in males) only occurs after a familiarization period. 2) Isaac, a freshman in computer science, is well on his way to creating a plugin to automate the nose and tail of two interacting rodents.
