Update: We are continuing to run sessions with participants over the summer! Drawings for gift cards will occur once data collection is complete.

Feb. 19, 2021 – We are currently recruiting participants between 7 and 9 years old from anywhere in the USA to participate in an online study! In this study, we are looking at children’s beliefs about religion, science, nature, and human nature. The study is child-friendly – involving “gamified” questions – which kids find really fun to answer! It’s also really interesting for parents to hear what their children have to say about these big questions.

Participants are read 30 statements about these topics and are asked how much they agree or disagree with them. Participants’ responses are recorded by the researcher and, with your permission, videotaped to aid data analysis. For your participation, you can enter to win one of three $50 gift cards. You can also receive a graphic of your child’s belief profile (like a personality profile) at the end of your session.

The study takes about 30-40 minutes and is conducted using the video call application Zoom. We will need to video your child providing verbal assent at the beginning of the Zoom call, and we will also need documentation of your permission for your child to participate in the study, which you can provide either by printing, signing, scanning, and emailing us a permission form or by creating a free DocuSign account to electronically sign the permission form.

If you are interested in participating, you can email us at mindslab@umontana.edu, call us at (406) 243-4515, or click here to schedule a session.
