Research Opportunities for Undergraduates

There are a variety of research opportunities for undergraduates in the sociology department. Undergraduate students often work on faculty research projects for pay or for course credit. Students also may propose their own research projects and work under the supervision of a faculty member. Students who are interested should discuss their project and interests with a faculty member who has expertise in their area. Faculty will guide students in setting up their project, gaining IRB approval, conducting the study, and finding venues for disseminating the results of the project. Faculty also will be able to suggest opportunities for course credit, and sources of scholarship and grant funding available for qualifying student research.
