Culture Camp

BSSP Culture Camps have been a highlight of the program, providing opportunities for K-8 teachers to interact with and learn from tribal educators and elders in both Eastern and Western Montana.

One Missoula area teacher said about culture camp, “Culture Camp was one of my favorite components of BSSP. The weeks of culture camp gave us a chance to learn tribal history firsthand from the elders as we made teepees, deer skin drums, pine needle baskets, fish traps, flutes, and listened to so many wonderful stories/memories. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!” Christy Wasem, Teacher at Hellgate Elementary School.
