His Passion:

Josh's passion is feeding his family, friends, and community, healthy and delicious organic produce. He also loves to inspire and educate people about sustainable agriculture and the stewardship of our natural resources especially soil health and composting.

Accomplishments:

Josh's accomplishments at Shelburne Farms are many. He has expanded education programs along with the Children's Farm Yard garden to meet education program needs and provide inspirational garden spaces for visitors. He built an education pavilion to host summer camps, field trips, and other public programs at the market garden. He started an on-farm composting operation of food scraps from the Inn to reduce the off-farm waste stream and help meet garden fertility needs. He helped start a farm share program to distribute garden produce, eggs, and cheese to staff and has played an integral role in maple syrup expansion, designing and building a new sugarhouse at the market garden. Aside from growing three acres of certified organic mixed vegetables, herbs, flowers, and berries, and cultivating shiitake mushrooms, he also added a laying flock and egg production to the market garden.
