Born and raised in Minnesota, I grew up with a love of the outdoors and a deep interest in its critters. I most recently spent four years teaching high school science at a small charter school outside of Minneapolis. As a teacher, I developed strong partnerships with our local Three Rivers Park District and the Wildlife Science Center; my students could often be found getting their hands dirty pulling weeds or taking vitals from sedated wolves. I left my teaching position to pursue my interests in ecology and conservation and chose Montana for its mountains and small-town charm. Currently, I work for the Missoula County Weed District as an education assistant. I teach 5th graders about noxious weeds and take them on hikes on Mt. Jumbo to learn Montana's native plant species. In the summer, I lead a Youth in Restoration crew of high school students; we work with various environmental organizations, including The Nature Conservancy and Five Valleys Land Trust, to complete land stewardship and restoration projects.
