Judges & Volunteers
Thank you for your interest in judging or volunteering at the 2016 Montana Science Fair. The 61st Annual Montana Science Fair will be held at UM with judging and volunteer oportunities on Monday, March 21st. Please consider volunteering to judge or to help with other areas of the fair. Please also encourage your science colleagues (including retirees), graduate students, and science majors to volunteer.
All judging for the 2016 Montana Science Fair will occur between noon and 6 pm on Monday, March 21, in the Adams Center at the University of Montana. Judging by scientists of science projects is a valuable service; it is also an excellent opportunity to engage young students (grades 6 through 12) in discussions about science.
New judges should attend orientation from 11:10 to 11:25. Lunch for all is 11:30 to noon.
- Select "11 to 2 pm" for orientation and first round judging (we need more than 200 judges for this round, graduate students and science majors can be especially useful here)
- Select "11 to 4 pm" for 1st and 2nd round judging
- Select "11 to 6 pm" for all phases of judging
Most undergraduate volunteers will be assigned to Division II (grades 6-8). We also need experienced judges to coordinate teams of Division II judges.
A variety of volunteer positions are available from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm on the day of the fair, March 21st.
